In show biz, this is what's known as "awards season." That's why it's a good time to bookmark the site that bills itself as "the awards insider." Awards maven Tom O'Neil, who has written books about the Grammys and Emmys, is on top of all the gossip, predictions and news. This site covers everything from the obscure (Berlin Film Festival) to the obvious (the Oscars).
There are dozens of photos of last Sunday's Grammys, including performance shots and red-carpet poses, and several articles of analysis, including a look at the Grammys' poor TV ratings and a report that Herbie Hancock's album of the year ("River: The Joni Letters") has sold only 40,000 copies in the United States. In his Gold Derby blog, O'Neil examines some of Roger Ebert's Oscar predictions and opines on how Mr. Thumbs Up has erred in the past.
