It's a construction zone at the University of St. Thomas for tonight's Suburban East Conference game.

I'm the lone soul in the press box right now, arriving early to watch Cretin-Derham Hall face White Bear Lake. Got the umbrella at my side, in case we get a little soaking this evening.

St. Thomas is undergoing major construction work next door to the stadium. The Tommies will be getting a new home court for the basketball teams as well as a new student center, if memory serves. The parking lot next to the stadium has been cut in half, I'd guess, so folks better remember to hit the road early unless they don't mind a long walk through the neighborhood.

The St. Thomas gridders just finished an intrasquad scrimmnage and now the field is clear as we await the arrival of tonight's contestants.

Some assistant coaches from White Bear Lake have just arrived in the press box, so we're headed in the right direction.
