This was a funny little piffle that did turn-away business in a couple of engagements at the Bryant-Lake Bowl in the late 1990s. The brainchild of Brian Kelly and Todd Price, the spoof finds satire in office life (imagine that!) when a temp is hired to take the place of an employee who has been dismissed. Kelly says he's expanded the show and brought it to the much larger confines of the Music Box Theatre in Minneapolis. That space became available this year with the departure of "Triple Espresso." Coincidentally, Kelly spent six years as Bobby Bean in different productions of that show. He performs in "The Temp" with Michael Ritchie, Tom Winner and Carolyn Pool. Michael Pearce Donley (co-creator of "Triple Espresso") and Drew Jansen ("Church Basement Ladies") help out with the music.

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020. As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
