Obama gun control proposals

Speaking in Minneapolis on Monday, President Obama urged Americans to support his proposals to reduce gun violence:

• Universal background checks on gun purchases, whether through licensed dealers or private parties.

• A 10-round limit on ammunition magazines.

• Improved mental health screening of potential gun owners.

• A ban on assault-style weapons.
