Now this makes some sense

Draft almost here

That Al Jefferson for Zach Randolph rumor makes little sense.

But how 'bout this one circulating Wednesday night:

The Wolves send Big Al and picks Nos. 16 and 23 to Detroit for the Pistons' seventh overall pick and the expiring contracts of Tayshaun Prince and Chris Wilcox.

It's intriguing IF...

* Derrick Favors is there for the Wolves to select at No. 4.

* There's a player at No. 7 -- Fresno State's Paul George perhaps? -- who you think can become a star.

The other factor:

Prince's $11.1 million and Wilcox's $3 million come off the books after next season. Take away Al's $42 million owed for the next three seasons and there's more money to spend on a free agent(s) if you think the addition of two top seven picks, particularly Favors, will convince Ricky Rubio to play here and all those three factors will convince a significant free agent to take the Wolves money.
