WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — A Pennsylvania man who gained notoriety with the 2003 discovery of at least five bodies in his yard is set to stand trial in two of the deaths.
Hugo Selenski was charged nine years ago with strangling a pharmacist and the pharmacist's girlfriend and burying their bodies on his property.
After repeated delays, the trial gets underway this week with jury selection.
Selenski denies killing Michael Kerkowski and Tammy Fassett. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.
Fassett's sister says the last decade has been "very frustrating" but she's looking forward to seeing Selenski face justice.
Selenski was acquitted of killing two other people found on his property. He's serving a long prison sentence in an unrelated case.
