A busy jet stream will keep the Pacific Northwest quite unsettled into thestart of November.Showers will continue off and on through the weekend, though a larger soakinglies ahead to start the workweek on Monday as a very powerful storm systemslowly moves east over the Pacific. The storm system will slam a powerful coldfront into British Columbia.
The locally heavy rain will be enough of an issue to warrant the possibility offlooding. In addition to the rain, mudslides will be a concern, as well asgusty winds along the immediate coast. Since areas will not have a coolair-mass in place prior to the storms arrival, snow levels will be high, drenching most mountain locations.
Though the rain will be quite heavy, it will not cover a widespread area. Highpressure will save most of Oregon from the deluge, as a ridge of high pressurekeeps the drenching downpours from sinking south.
