Stormy weather in the Northwest will persist into Friday. Thursday, westernWashington and western Oregon were soaked with a good half inch of rain. andthe mountains were getting 1 to 2 inches of snow per hour. Travel has becomedifficult over the mountain passes, and little improvement is expected foranother day.Winds along the coast picked up Thursday, and will become strongest Thursdaynight and Friday morning. Gusts then will be over 60 miles per hour in areasthat are totally exposed to the ocean flow. The mountain passes also get prettywindy in situations like this.
