May 21, 2009 at 11:25AM

Summer-like warmth will continue to surge across the Northeast today as highpressure remains parked off the mid-Atlantic coast. Most places across themid-Atlantic and Northeast will reach well into the 80s, but some spots insouthern New England will even flirt with the 90-degree mark. The unusual heat will vie for a spot in the record books in places likeAlbany, N.Y., Concord, N.H., and Hartford, Conn., and Bangor, Maine.

Be sure to drink plenty of water and wear sunscreen if you will be outsideenjoying the warm weather. The best time of the day to partake in any strenuousactivities will be during the morning and evening hours, when the sun is atlower angles.
