Northeast Snow to Return

December 25, 2009 at 8:25PM

The center of the blizzard that is bearing down on the nation's northernmidsection will finally reach the Northeast at the start of next week. Whilethe storm will not be the fierce blizzard it is now, it could still spread afew inches of snow over the Interstate 95 corridor. Commuters headed back towork on Monday could be impacted. At this time, it appears as though snow would spread over southeastern New Yorkand southern New England Sunday night into Monday. This includes New York Cityand Boston. It is definitely not out of the question that this zone shifts tothe north or south.

Regardless of where the snow exactly falls, blustery winds will usher harshcold into the Northeast early next week. High temperatures will be held to theteens and 20s throughout the region on Tuesday. Places near the Canadian bordermay not even rise above single digits. The cold winds will create bitterlycolder AccuWeather.com RealFeel® temperatures.
