Northeast Escapes Winter Storm

Travel across the Northeast will be spared this weekend thanks to high pressureover the northern half of the county, while a powerful winter storm will trackthrough the Southeast. Snow and ice will create messy conditions from themiddle Mississippi Valley to Virginia and North Carolina.Despite the lack of snow, temperatures will remain cold during the weekend withhighs only in the teens and twenties throughout a large chunk of the Northeastand Great Lakes.
