Three Rocori players made big plays as the North team won 25-7 over the South in a Minnesota high school all-star football game Saturday at St. John's in Collegeville, Minn. A grassroots effort by parents made the game possible.

Camdyn Bauer threw two touchdown passes, one to Spartans teammate Tucker Haakonson of 42 yards, and Luke Humbert returned an interception 60 yards for a score.

St. Michael-Albertville's David Collins scored on a 16-yard touchdown run for the North, which built a 25-0 lead.

The South scored on Litchfield's Benjamin Alsleben's 39-yard pass to Minneapolis Washburn's Jemarien Wheeler in the final minute.

Red Wing shooters win state title

Red Wing won the MSHSL Clay Target State Tournament on Friday at the Minneapolis Gun Club in Prior Lake with a score of 484 out of 500. The Wingers, led by William Ahren's 98, edged Tri-City United (483) and Alden-Conger (482) for their first title in clay targets in a field of 40.

Boone Johnson of South St. Paul and Bradley Bible of Becker tied for the individual title with a perfect score of 100.

• Jordan Petersen, a Brooklyn Park native, was named Bemidji State softball coach. She was an assistant coach at Minnesota State Moorhead the past two seasons. Before that, Petersen was a graduate assistant at Northern State from 2017-19.

• Christine Dean of Interlachen Country Club defeated Cathy White of Royal Golf Club 4 and 3 in the semifinals of the MGA Women's Senior Match Play Championship at Monticello Country Club. Claudia Pilot of Grand View Lodge beat Barb Miller of Dellwood Country Club 1 up in the other match.
