Viennese music fest Fridley will turn into 19th century Vienna on Sunday afternoon. The Northeast Orchestra and the Fridley Band are holding a joint concert where they will play music from Viennese musicians of the 1800s.

The free event will be at 3 p.m. at the Church of St. William, 6120 NE. 5th St.

BLAINE

Food fundraiser benefits Free2B More than 800 people and their appetites helped the third annual Taste of Blaine fundraiser bring in more than $15,000.

Thirty-seven restaurants filled two levels of the Schwan Center for the Feb. 21 event. The money raised went to the nonprofit agency Free2B, which accepts donated cars, repairs them and then gives them to eligible Anoka County residents to help them achieve economic independence.

In 2007, the organization donated 87 vehicles to people in need of transportation and repaired 290 cars.

COON RAPIDS

Drumlines face off The Coon Rapids High School Winter Drumline will host 17 drumlines from across Minnesota and Wisconsin at the Cardinal Classic show on Saturday.

The colorguard competition starts at 1 p.m. and the drumlines begin at 6 p.m. in the fieldhouse at the high school, 2340 NW. Northdale Blvd.

The Coon Rapids Drumline, which is undefeated in its first seven shows this season, will perform "Shift," written by band director Kevin Fuhrman. The cost is $6 for adults and $4 for students and seniors.

HAM LAKE

Commission vacancy Ham Lake is seeking to fill two vacancies on its Charter Commission.

A city charter, similar to a constitution, allows a city to determine its own system of government outside the scope of the state's statutory provisions.

People who are interested in the unpaid commission posts are asked to submit a written statement to City Hall, 15544 Central Ave. NE., by March 12.
