Third EarthFest is set for April 14EarthFest is coming. The third annual event, linked to Earth Day, will be held from noon-4 p.m. April 14 at Brooklyn Center High School, 6500 Humboldt Av. N.
Arctic explorer Will Steger will give the keynote address at noon, and the fest, which is free, will feature 60 exhibits and activities.
There will be offerings from the Bakken Museum, Art Start and Kidwind, and attendees will have a chance to learn about subjects from how to compost and reduce toxicity in their home and garden to the latest energy-saving tips.
Among the activities will be a teen book and clothing swap, a "ReUse" sale, food demonstrations, an on-site compost build, kite-building and a wind turbine activity for kids.
COON RAPIDS
Green Expo also is comingCoon Rapids will hold its third annual Green Expo from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. April 14. The event is free and will be held at the Coon Rapids Civic Center, 11155 Robinson Drive.
Expo-goers will have an opportunity to learn about new developments in water, energy and waste reduction. A range of local businesses, services and speakers will be on hand. The featured guest speaker will be Lonnie Dupre, who's traveled more than 15,000 miles throughout the Arctic.
NORTH MINNEAPOLIS
Tickets available for benefit concertBrill Building Sing-Along, a FUNdraiser for Scholarships at Camden Music School, is scheduled for 7 p.m. April 20 at the Capri Theater, 2027 W. Broadway in Minneapolis.
Special guests will include Dan Chouinard, Prudence Johnson, Cynthia Johnson, T. Mychael Rambo, Gary Rue and Katy Hays, leading a singalong of music by a variety of artists.
