Photographers asked to give their best shotAnoka County is inviting amateur photographers to take part in a contest that will yield the photo for the cover of the county's 2013-14 "Recyclopedia," a publication that is a reference book to help residents recycle, reuse, reduce and dispose of materials safely.
The contest is open to county residents only, and the photo must be taken in the county. Photos should be submitted electronically and have a minimum size of 5 inches by 5 inches at 300 dpi. The preferred format is jpeg.
Photos should be submitted to PhotoContest@co.anoka. mn.us and should include contact information -- name, address, phone and e-mail -- as well as specify when and where the photo was taken.
Deadline is Oct. 19. Photos won't be returned, and participants give the county permission to use the photos for educational or promotional purposes. For further information, call Anoka County Integrated Waste Management at 763-323-5730.
Anoka High School opens 'Legally Blonde'"Legally Blonde," the fall musical at Anoka High School, will open with 7:30 performances on Nov. 2, 3, 8, 9 and 10 and a 2:00 matinee on Nov. 4.
