'Clothing the County' exhibit gets addition"Clothing the County," an exhibit at the Anoka County History Center examining the history of fashion, has added political clothing to the display.
The exhibit includes items from the permanent collections of the Historical Society and ranges from high-society to working clothes.
The political garb features clothing worn by former County Commissioners Natalie Steffen, Dennis Berg, Martin Bean and others during their campaigns for office.
The exhibit opened May 1 and is rotating clothing periodically.
The center and library are located at 2135 3rd Av. N., and the exhibit is free on the first Tuesday of every month. It's also open Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The entrance fee is $3 for adults and $2 for children ages 6-17. For groups of 15 or more, the prices are $2.50 for adults and $1.50 for children ages 6-17. It's free for Historical Society members and children under 6.
CHAMPLIN
Family Bingo night scheduled for Nov. 16The city will offer an evening of bingo for families at the Champlin Ice Forum on Friday, Nov. 16.
There will be two sessions of 10 games each, starting at 5:30 and 7:15 p.m. For each game, there will be one adult winner and one child winner. The adult will get a frozen turkey and the young winner also will get a prize.
