25th anniversary ice show this weekend
A trio of skating organizations will present their annual ice show this weekend at the Brooklyn Park Community Activity Center.
Three performances of "That Was Then — This Is Now," by the Three Rivers Figure Skating Club and the Brooklyn Park and Champlin Skating schools, will be given: at 7 p.m. Friday, April 11, and 1 and 6 p.m. Saturday, April 12.
The event will mark the 25th anniversary of the ice show. It will feature 80 skaters, from Brooklyn Park, Maple Grove, Osseo and Anoka.
Tickets are $5 presale and $6 at the door for students ages 5-17 and people age 60 and over, and $8 presale and $9 at the door for adults 18-59. Advance tickets can be bought at the main window of the Community Activity Center, which is located at 5600 85th Av. N., Brooklyn Park.
Anoka-Hennepin
School District to offer coaches clinic
The Anoka-Hennepin School District will host a free youth coaches workshop on Monday, April 14. Coaches and booster club members are invited to attend the session, titled "Why We Play." It will run from 5:45 to 9 p.m. at the Coon Rapids High School auditorium, 2340 Northdale Blvd. NW., Coon Rapids.
The district is teaming up with the Anoka-Hennepin Education Foundation and the Minnesota State High School League to organize the event.
Presenters will discuss the importance of responding to mistakes positively and defining success by more than the numbers on the scoreboard.
