The Columbia Heights Community Heritage Tower is the third and final piece of a decade-long effort to promote peace and opportunity in the aftermath of the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks that shook the nation.
The city dedicated a "Clock Tower of Peace" in June 2006 and added a "Police and Fire Tribute" statue in October 2009 at the new Public Safety Building. The Community Heritage Tower is to be dedicated in May of this year.
