Senior Expo set for Saturday The Anoka County Senior Expo will be held Saturday at Lord of Life Church in Ramsey.
The free event for senior citizens and their families will promote healthy living. Massage, blood pressure checks, health care directives, entertainment and other health information will be available. There also will be a free pancake breakfast.
The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon at 14501 Nowthen Blvd. NW.
Sponsors are Anoka County Human Services and the Alliance for a Violence Free Anoka County.

BROOKLYN PARK
Use your wits and GPS to race for the cache Brooklyn Park will hold its first Amazing GPS Race for teams to find caches in area parks using GPS.
The event will begin at 9:30 a.m. on April 17 at the Community Activity Center, 5600 85th Av. N. Teams will compete to find caches in area parks using GPS units.
The first three teams to return to the center with cache items will win prizes. All participants will receive a T-shirt and are invited to a post-race pizza party.
Individuals or teams of up to eight players can register. Cost is $5 per person.

Family Center holding garage sale fundraiser The Forest Lake ECFE Children's Garage Sale is coming up. The Family Center Parent Advisory Council will hold the sale and fundraiser from 9 a.m. to noon April 17 at Forest Lake High School, 6101 Scandia Trail N., Forest Lake.

HENNEPIN COUNTY
Teen Job Fair set for Saturday The Hennepin County Library is sponsoring a free Teen Job Fair from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Minneapolis Central Library, 300 Nicollet Mall.
Teenagers will have a chance to meet employers and get information about job openings. They'll also be able to apply for a job on the spot, sign up for job training, or find out about internships and volunteering.
Two workshops also will be offered during the Teen Job Fair: At 1 p.m., a panel of representatives from businesses such as Jimmy John's and the Mall of America will discuss applications and résumés, interviewing and other job-search concerns; at 2 p.m. there will be a workshop on job-search tips.
Last year, more than 30 businesses participated in the Teen Job Fair and helped teenagers find part-time and summer jobs that matched their skills and interests.
The Hennepin County Library is offering other teen job assistance programs through May. For details, go to www.hclib.org.

Vintage Fashion Show will aid area projects The Circle Pines-Lexington Lions Club will host a Vintage Fashion Show presented by Goodwill/Easter Seals volunteers on Saturday at St. Joseph Parish, 171 Elm St., Lino Lakes.
The show will feature fashions from the 1920s and '30s jazz and flapper era. There will be a social hour at 11:30 a.m., luncheon at 12:30 p.m. and the show at 1:30.

Refugee committee's chief to speak on Haiti Daniel Wordsworth, president and CEO of the Minneapolis-based American Refugee Committee, will speak on Thursday about that organization's work in Haiti and the current situation in the country.

Lions Club breakfast set for Sunday The New Hope Lions Club has scheduled its annual pancake-and-sausage breakfast fundraiser and a silent auction from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at Plymouth Middle School, 10011 36th Av. N., Plymouth.
Cost is $6 for adults and $5 for seniors and youth up to age 13. Preschool children accompanied by an adult can eat for free.
Proceeds will go to support local charities and programs.

Tree sale is underway by Friends of the Parks The Friends of the Parks and Trails tree sale is up and running.
A variety of trees can be ordered until April 17, with pickup on May 1. Trees also may be bought and donated for planting in public parks in a number of cities, including Arden Hills, Blaine, Brooklyn Park and Shoreview.
