Event will celebrate manufacturing
A free showing of the film "Metal and Flesh" will be presented at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, at Anoka-Ramsey Community College in conjunction with Minnesota Manufacturing Week. The screening is part of a celebration of manufacturing and will be followed by a 7 p.m. question-and-answer session with "Monster" Mike Schultz, who is featured in the film. Schultz lost most of a leg in an accident several years ago, and later won medals in motocross using a prosthetic that he designed. He has since helped others.
After the q-and-a with Schultz, there will be a manufacturing expo from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public. It is intended to connect students, parents and others in the community with manufacturers.
The Coon Rapids campus is located at 11200 Mississippi Blvd. NW. In addition to Anoka-Ramsey CC, the evening is sponsored by Anoka Technical College, the Anoka Chamber of Commerce and the city of Coon Rapids.
Space is limited; for further information or to register, go to AnokaRamsey.edu/BMED or manufactureevent.eventbrite.com.
