Suspicious activity. Police responded to a report of a vehicle in a ditch near the 19400 block of Lexington Avenue NE. An officer located the vehicle and saw that the ignition had been punched out, but there was no one around. The officer followed a single set of footprints and located a suspect hiding among some nearby trees. The 39-year-old man was arrested for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

BLAINE

Theft. Officers responded to a theft report at Cub Foods, 12595 Central Av. NE. According to police reports, an employee observed a man take and conceal a T-bone steak, razors and a meat thermometer and attempt to leave the store without paying for the merchandise. The 66-year-old man was arrested for theft.

COON RAPIDS

FEB. 5

Suspected theft. A woman called police to report that her purse had been stolen from the bar at Lindee's Saloon and Eatery, 3395 Coon Rapids Blvd. NW. A witness said that a woman had been sitting next to the purse but had left. Champlin police found the woman, intoxicated, at her home, along with the purse. The 50-year-old woman said she had taken the purse thinking it was her own. An officer returned the purse to the owner, who found that nothing was missing from it.

Disturbing the peace. A woman called police to report that overnight, someone had thrown spaghetti sauce at her house on the 13100 block of Grouse Street NW. According to police reports, the woman said the sauce was frozen to her house. She said it was the second time this has happened.

FEB. 7

Disturbing the peace. According to police reports, a woman called to report that she heard something hit the front door of her home on the 1500 block of 128th Avenue NW. She looked outside and found a Fruit Roll-Up box. She opened the box and found a Doritos bag, and the top was tied with a hair tie. She opened the bag and found vomit inside.

FRIDLEY

JAN. 4

Animal complaint. Someone called police to report that two pit bull dogs had killed a small dog belonging to a neighbor on the 1500 block of 75th Avenue NE. According to police reports, one pit bull was taken into custody and the other was killed at the scene.

JAN. 22

Domestic dispute. Police responded to a call on a domestic dispute in the 5300 block of 5th Street NE. One woman claimed her sister had stolen prescription medication from her. The sister claimed the same thing. Both denied taking anything from one another. Police advised the two women to stay away from one another until they can get along.

FEB. 5

Suspicious vehicle. Someone called police to report a suspicious vehicle at a park on the 6700 block of Kennaston Drive NE. Officers found two occupants in the vehicle who said that they were just having a conversation. They left the park to continue their talk elsewhere.

Theft. A snowmobile trailer was stolen from the yard of a home on the 13300 block of Hwy. 65.

Theft. Someone stole a fish house from Island Lake, just north of the 6900 block of Viking Boulevard.

MOUNDS VIEW

FEB. 5

Drunken driving. Someone called police to report that a vehicle had left the road and was stuck in a snowbank on Old Hwy. 8 and Windsor Way. Officers located the vehicle and arrested a 31-year-old Mounds View man for drunken driving.

ST. ANTHONY

JAN. 31

Traffic violation. Police arrested a 29-year-old female and a 38-year-old male at 36th Avenue NE. and Belden Drive for a violation of an instruction permit, no insurance and possession of a small amount of marijuana. The vehicle was impounded.
