Traffic stop. Police pulled over a vehicle in the area of Snelling and Larpenteur avenues because its rear brake lights were not working. The driver said she was unaware of the issue and was given a verbal warning.
FRIDLEY

Check welfare. Officers responded to the 1200 block of East Moore Lake Drive NE. on a report of an intoxicated male with a bicycle. Officers located the 64-year-old man and took him home.

Assist family. An officer responded to a home on the 6200 block of 5th Street NE. on a report from a mother who said her 15-year-old son locked himself in a bedroom in an act of defiance. The boy allowed the officer into the room. The officer removed the door knob in accordance with the mother's desires.
Animal complaint. A resident on the 300 block of 66th Avenue NE. reported a woodchuck in the yard. An officer was able to contain the animal in a cage and released it near a park.

Noise complaint. Officers responded to a home on the 5700 block of East River Road NE. on a report of a noise complaint. Officers discovered two children were arguing over an iPad and advised a parent to keep the noise level down.

Property damage. A 19-year-old man was arrested by police responding to a report of tires slashed in the 1700 block of Rice Street.

Suspicious activity. A woman reported receiving a letter from a former male neighbor of hers when she lived in Maplewood. She had not been in contact with the man in 15 years. The man wrote that he was just saying hello and asked that she call him. She told authorities she only wanted the incident documented and did not want them to contact the man.

Theft. Diapers were stolen from an apartment on the 2600 block of Scotland Court.

Burglary. A scooter was stolen from a garage in the 1200 block of Brighton Square.

Vandalism. Someone threw chili on a vehicle in the 3700 block of 224th Avenue NW.

Animal concern. A peeping peacock was reported looking into the windows of a home in the 13000 block of 202nd Street. A deputy observed the bird walk around the home and then disappear into a nearby wooded area.
WOODBURY

Suspicious activity. Police were unable to identify the source of a strong marijuana odor inside and outside an apartment in the 1600 block of Century Circle. A resident told police that she must open windows and turn on fans to clear the apartment when she gets home from work. She said her dog seems to be suffering from secondhand marijuana smoke.
