North Dakota State to play San Diego in second round of FCS playoffs

North Dakota State, the No. 1 overall seed for the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision tournament, will host the San Diego Toreros in a second-round game at 2:30 p.m. next Saturday.

The Toreros beat Cal Poly 35-21 in a first-round game Saturday in San Luis Obispo, Calif., to advance. Jonah Hodges rushed for 171 yards and three short TDs for San Diego while Anthony Lawrence passed for 296 yards and two TDs.

The Toreros (10-1, 8-0 Pioneer League) and the Bison (10-1, 7-1 Missouri Valley) have never played before.

NCAA Division II playoffs

Harding 27, Sioux Falls 24 (OT): Tristan Parsley's 35-yard field goal in overtime lifted the Bisons (13-0) to a second-round victory in Sioux Falls, S.D. Sioux Falls (12-1) had a pass intercepted to start overtime. Parsley had kicked a 47-yard field goal with six seconds remaining in the fourth quarter to force the overtime.
