Millions of people from the mid-Atlantic to southern New England will deal witha paralyzing snowstorm (a powerful nor'easter).Up to 1-2 feet of snow will fall heavily today into tonight over portions ofthe mid-Atlantic, including over areas from northern Virginia through portionsof the Delmarva peninsula and southern New Jersey. Long Island and the Cape ofMassachusetts will also be clobbered by the heaviest snow.

Whiteout conditions with gusty winds of up to 40-60 mph will make the weathereven more frightful in the hardest hit zone.

The following interstates will have extremely dangerous travel today: I-76,I-80, I-81, I-95.

Hundreds of flights will be delayed and canceled due to poor visibility andslippery to snow-covered runways. In fact, United Airlines had already cancelednearly 150 flights in the East late Friday in anticipation of the powerfulnor'easter.
