No Coast Craft-o-Rama

A pioneer of the indie craft-fair movement, No Coast Craft-O-Rama has been going strong since 2005. This year's roster of nearly 100 crafters, artisans and designers runs the gamut of all things DIY, silk-screened, letterpress, hand-knit and hand-stitched. Just in time for the holidays, you'll find giftables for grandmas, babies and pets alike -- and probably walk out with a few things for yourself, too. (3-8 p.m. Fri., 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sat. Free. Midtown Global Market, 2901 Chicago Av. S., Mpls. www.nocoastcraft.com.)

Ornamento

With this holiday pop-up shop, fans of Minneapolis-based e-shop Ship&Shape can shop the collective's handmade goods in person. Founded by jewelry designers Annika Kaplan and Erin Smith plus graphic designer/stationery-maker Maddy Nye, Ship&Shape takes the handmade charm of Etsy and curates it, selecting an array of items for the quirky art girl, ranging from ceramics to note cards to knits, all in limited-edition runs. Screen-printed calendars by Isa Gagarin and cutting boards by Matthew Miller will also debut. (Noon-5 p.m. Sun. Free. Honeycomb Salon, 3504 Nicollet Av. S., Mpls. www.shipandshape.com.) As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
