The Fargo city attorney said Tuesday that no charges will be filed in connection with an April 24 altercation at a downtown bar that involved one of the stars of HGTV's popular home remodeling reality show "Property Brothers."
Celebrity news outlet TMZ first reported that a bouncer put a headlock on Jonathan Scott, who was caught in the middle of an argument among other people at 2 a.m. just as Dempsey's Public House at 226 Broadway was about to close.
"Upon review of the police report and associated evidence, I found there was not sufficient evidence to establish a violation of either simple assault or disorderly conduct . . . beyond a reasonable doubt," City Attorney Erik Johnson said.
Scott is a contractor and his twin brother Drew is a real estate agent on HGTV's "Property Brothers" shows. They were in Fargo to speak at the Eco Chic Design Conference on April 23.
