Saturday: Evel Knievel who? Gone are the days when people got excited about some guy jumping through a ring of fire while riding a motorcycle. Enter the world of "action sports." As if sports in general weren't action-oriented, these guys need to spell it out for you. This is dangerous — really dangerous. One of the athletes involved in Nitro Circus recently became the first person to land a triple front flip on a BMX bike. (Watch it on YouTube if you want to spike your blood pressure.) The Target Center extravaganza will include BMX riders and freestyle motocross daredevils zipping through the air on bikes, motorcycles and maybe even snowmobiles — all under a three-ring circus motif. Do people care about this stuff? The Internet says yes. On Twitter, @NitroCircus has more than 274,000 followers, many still going ga-ga over that death-defying triple front flip into the history books. (7:30 p.m. Sat. $41-$101. Target Center, 600 1st Av. N., Mpls. 1-888-929-7849, targetcenter.com.)
