Nine Mile Creek Watershed District seeks board members

August 3, 2013 at 10:41PM

The Hennepin County Board is seeking applicants for two vacancies on the Nine Mile Creek Watershed District Board, which coordinates the management of water and land resources in the west-metro watershed.

Nine Mile Creek's watershed district, which covers about 50 square miles in Hennepin County, includes portions of the cities of Bloomington, Eden Prairie, Edina, Hopkins, Minnetonka and Richfield.

District officials recommend that citizens interesting in being on the board have some background in water conservation, development, law, engineering, environment or public administration.

The board, which has five members who are appointed by the County Board, meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the district's office at 7710 Computer Av., Suite 135, in Edina.

The deadline to apply is Aug. 29.
