Nine arrested in Wisconsin pot-growing operation

Nine people from a north central Wisconsin town have been charged in connection with a large pot-growing operation, Washburn County Sheriff Terry Dryden said today.

Authorities on Thursday simultaneously executed four search warrants at homes in and near the town of Minong. Collectively they found more than 56 pounds (25,000 grams) of marijuana being dried and being prepared for packaging, Dryden said.

The suspects, all from Minong, were taken into custody without incident.
