Prom party goes karaoke

This year the Forever Young crew's prom party goes karaoke. Relive the glory or make up for the misery of your high school prom while horribly belting "Sweet Caroline" in First Avenue's main room on Friday. Joel Stitzel brings his Infernal Singalong Machine with more than 20,000 songs ready for butchering. Sweat through your cheap tux while DJs Foolproof, Cloud and Flipstyle play everything from "Sandstorm" to Sisqo at this late '90s/early '00s dance party.

7 p.m., April 10, $8-$13, 21-plus, 701 1st Av. N., Mpls., 612-332-1775,

Whiskey on Ice

It's last call for tickets to Sunday's Whiskey on Ice event. Whiskey nerds will descend upon the Depot skating rink in downtown Minneapolis for a sip-athon featuring more than 90 producers. If three hours of whiskey sampling isn't enough, additional tasting seminars run earlier in the day for $25 a pop. Puff Ashton Cigars while enjoying a fine single-malt, but for a whiskey-neat reprieve, grab a Surly beer or cocktail from the Northstar Bartenders Guild. Walk-up tickets will not be available.

5-8 p.m., April 12, $75, ($20 designated driver), 21-plus, 225 3rd Av. S., Mpls.,

Brewery bus tour

Brews & Buses hauls ticket holders to eight St. Paul breweries by — you guessed it — bus on Saturday. Organized by taproom crawl kings GetKnit, the sold-out ride starts at Union Depot and proceeds to Summit, Bang, Flat Earth and others, with buses circulating through each brewery every 10 to 20 minutes. Tickets cover two beers, transportation, access to specialty firkins and more.

11 a.m. to 6 p.m., April 11, sold out, 21-plus, 214 E. 4th St., St. Paul,
