The Nicollet Mall will be opened to regular traffic on Thanksgiving night from 6 to 10 p.m as part of a once-a-year promotion by the city. The mall will be decorated with more than a half a million twinkle lights, 300 illuminated snowflakes and about 4,000 feet of natural garland. The mall's planters have been newly replanted with more than 5,500 spruce tips.

The speed limit is 10 miles-per-hour and drivers are not allowed to pass each other anywhere along the mall. If you want to take the drive, you must enter and exit Nicollet Mall either at Washington Ave. or Grant Street. City ordinance limits traffic on the mall to buses, taxis and emergency vehicles, but allows cars one evening a year on Thanksgiving night.

The Target Holidazzle parade begins Friday, Nov. 23 at 6:30 p.m., and continues on Thursdays through Sundays through Dec. 23. For more information, go to www.holidazzle.com
