NHL trade grapevine

Some trade scuttlebutt around the NHL as the draft approaches:

• Colorado: Wants to keep the No. 2 pick but would trade No. 11. Looking for a goaltender (maybe Jonathan Bernier or Cory Schneider).

• Columbus: Willing to trade the No. 8 pick for an impact center or puck-moving defenseman. Has talked to Philadelphia and Edmonton.

• Detroit: Could be dangling Jiri Hudler and/or Valtteri Filppula for a puck-moving defenseman to replace retired Brian Rafalski

• Edmonton: Owns the No. 1 overall pick but would like to trade for another top-10 pick. Names available include Ales Hemsky, Tom Gilbert, Sam Gagner and Andrew Cogliano.

• New Jersey: Looking for a puck-moving defenseman, and the Wild is believed to have talked to the Devils about Brent Burns. Looking to trade Brian Rolston and Dainius Zubrus, but both have big contracts.

• Philadelphia: Needs to unload $5 million of salary to sign Ilya Bryzgalov and would love to trade a player to move into the top 10 of draft. Matt Carle, Scott Hartnell and Kris Versteeg are in play. It would be tough to unleash Jeff Carter.

• Phoenix: After trading the rights to Bryzgalov, it wants a young goalie.
