DOVER, N.H. — A judge has reduced bail for a man accused of drunken driving in a crash that killed a Minnesota woman on her honeymoon in New Hampshire.
WMUR-TV reports (http://bit.ly/13prKkF) that a judge granted a defense request Wednesday to lower Matthew Tsopas' bail from $250,000 to $75,000.
The 43-year-old Somersworth man is charged with negligent homicide and aggravated driving while intoxicated for the July 20 crash in Rollinsford. Thirty-year-old Leah Fonda of St. Paul, Minn., was killed and her husband was seriously injured.
Prosecutors say that Tsopas had been drinking before the crash at the American Legion, where he also is accused of assaulting two people and ramming his car into four parked vehicles.
Tsopas' lawyer did not immediately return a call Thursday.
