Ballet Hispanico

Thursday: Come see what's new and exciting in the Latino dance world, as Ballet Hispanico makes a stop at the Ordway. Under the leadership of artistic director and CEO Eduardo Villaro, who was once a dancer with the New York-based company, Ballet Hispanico not only preserves and celebrates Latino culture and dance, but also pushes tradition into a contemporary frame of reference. Celebrating 45 years, it supports both emerging and established choreographers finding new inspirations for Latin-based forms. For Thursday's show, which is part of the Ordway's World Music & Dance Series, Ballet Hispanico will bring repertory pieces such as "El Beso" by Gustavo Ramírez Sansano, "Sombrerísimo" by Annabelle Lopez Ochoa and "Club Havana" by Pedro Ruiz. (7:30 p.m. Thu., Ordway Music Theater, 345 Washington St., St. Paul. $23-$45. 651-224-4222 or ordway.org.)
