HAR MAR SUPERSTAR & ASTRONAUTALIS

9 p.m. • Triple Rock • 18-plus • $20

What better way to ring in 2013 than with a sweaty, chest-exposing set from Har Mar Superstar? The indie-pop oddball and indie-rap hollerer Astronautalis make for a cool combo at the Triple Rock. MICHAEL RIETMULDER

MARK MALLMAN

6 (all ages) & 10 p.m. (18-plus) • 7th Street Entry • $10-$12

Minneapolis piano-masher Mallman prances into 2013 with two shows, which he says will be his ninth and final New Year's Eve concerts. Rock bludgeoners Bloodnstuff also play both shows, with dance-psych act Umami opening the late show and Bomba de Luz opening the matinee. M.R.

DILLINGER FOUR

9 p.m. • Turf Club • $10

Punk-rock statesmen Dillinger Four are proving they can celebrate more than July 4th, topping the Turf Club's NYE bill with underrated punks Frozen Teens, garage queens L'Assassins, Girl Group Cover Band and Lady Heat Hot Soul Party. M.R.

HOT ROXX COVER SHOW

9 p.m. • Hexagon Bar • free

The '70s-spinning DJs of Hot Roxx throw a mean cover band show with Tramps Like Us (Springsteen), tribute Hard Roky Cafe (Roky Erickson), a B-52s cover band, Swamptronica (swamp-rock covers with an electronic bent) and Dope Sandoval (Mazzy Star). JAHNA PELOQUIN

BIG WU

8 p.m. Sun.-Mon. • Fine Line • $20-$25 nightly or $30 for both

Even jam bands have to adhere to bar closings, so these Deadly boogie-rock stalwarts are stretching their familial Wu Year's Eve bash into a two-night affair with two distinct personalities. Sunday's lineup is an acoustic-based concert with Alex Rossi & Root City and Boys 'n the Barrels. Monday's electric show will include God Johnson, recent "American Idol" contestant Reed Grimm, rapper Initial MC (aka Duenday) and more.

LAMONT CRANSTON BAND

8 p.m. • DoubleTree Bloomington, 7800 Normandale Blvd. • $20-$25

The Cranstons offer a cool alternative to the downtown NYE norm, this one to finish off a strong year that saw the Twin Cities blues-rock mainstays enjoy a comeback buzz with their first new studio album in 15 years. Cancer-kicking MVP alum Bruce McCabe helped make the record and will rejoin the guys at year's end. Reverend Raven & the Chain-Smoking Altar Boys open.C.R.
