Friends posted messages -- and cleared up apparent vandalism -- at a memorial for Naressa Turner, 20, who was fatally shot about 2:45 p.m. Sunday while sitting in a vehicle in an alley in the 900 block of Reaney Avenue in St. Paul. On Monday, a man was wounded in a shooting nearby, but it was unclear if the events were related. Relatives and friends said Turner was targeted because she was believed to have witnessed a murder in St. Paul a few months ago. She fled to Atlanta for a few months to escape threats posted on her Facebook page, said friend Daniel Parrott. Turner left behind a young daughter. "She had a kind heart," Parrott said. Police have not discussed a possible motive, and no one has been arrested in her death.
