Springbrook's new play area

Enjoy the sunny, fleeting days of summer at Springbrook Nature Center's new amphitheater and nature-based play area. The spaces are christened this weekend with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by free ice cream and music by the Fridley City Band. Explore nature's bounty in the native forest, climb on logs and learn about birds of prey during a raptor program presented by the Wildlife Science Center. (1-4 p.m. Sat. Free.
