Gov. Dayton appoints new member to Food Safety and Defense Task Force

Dr. Katherine M.J. Swanson of Mendota Heights is the newest member of the state's Food Safety and Defense Task Force. She was appointed Thursday by Gov. Mark Dayton to replace Dr. Bruce Cords.

The task force, under the Department of Agriculture, advises state officials on food-safety issues.Swanson is a vice president at Ecolab Inc., focusing on environment, food safety and public health.
