Over at the Shubert Center, the ground is broken and a new leadership team is taking shape.

Mary McColl, who spent 20 years at the Ordway Center, rising from usher to general manager, is the new head of the dance venue, the center announced Tuesday.

In February, 2010, McColl will succeed Colin Hamilton as executive director. Hamilton is returning to Artspace Projects, the non-profit that operates the Shubert.

McColl spent a spell at the St Paul Chamber Orchestra, where she was vice president of operations. She has been working since 2008 in New York as director of labor relations for the Broadway League.

It was also announced on Tuesday that Jeff Bartlett, the former artistic director of the Southern Theater, has been hired as dance community liasion for the Shubert.
