New Brighton fire leaves 3 homeless

August 12, 2010 at 2:34AM

An early morning fire damaged a mobile home in New Brighton and left three residents without a place to live, authorities said.

The blaze was reported around 3 a.m. Wednesday on the 400 block of True Street in the Oak Grove Manufactured Housing Community. Two adults and one child who lived in the structure escaped unhurt. The American Red Cross is providing food, clothing and shelter, said volunteer Kevin Berger.

Firefighters were able to put out the fire, which is believed to have started in a back bedroom. The cause has not been determined, but it is not considered suspicious, authorities said.
