The New Brighton man who was killed when his bicycle collided with a snowplow truck in Fridley died from significant injuries to his head and other parts of his body, authorities said Tuesday.

Kerry S. Baker, 46, died Sunday morning at the scene of the crash, in the 4700 block of East River Road in Fridley.

According to the Anoka County Sheriff's Office, Baker was riding north in the left lane of traffic when he was struck by the privately owned truck, which was heading south. It was dark, Baker didn't have lights on his bike and he was not wearing a helmet, authorities said.

Baker's injuries included head trauma, broken bones and damage to internal organs.

The truck was not plowing snow at the time, the Sheriff's Office said.
