Need new windshield blades? Reader says Fleet Farm is the place

A reader offers his suggestion for the best place to buy wiper blades.

January 4, 2011 at 10:45PM

In my recent article about buying and replacing windshield wiper blades more often for safety sake, Jim from Blaine called to say that Fleet Farm offers the best selection and often the lowest prices.

Not only do they offer a great selection of brands, Jim said, but also of sizes. The stores have practically an entire aisle devoted to wiper blades. His favorite brand is also one of the least expensive (love it when that happens)----Anco. Consumer Reports also gave high ratings to the Anco brand.

And if you haven't applied Rain-X to your windshield yet, try it as a way to improve visibility in rain and snow. But follow label directions closely and don't apply it unless your windshield is 40 degrees or higher. In the winter, you can use your defroster to warm up your windshield or use a hair dryer in the garage.
