"Minnesota does have a number of affordable loans and down payment programs," said Julie Gugin, executive director of the Homeownership Center, which has a down payment tool on its website.
"We encourage consumers to get to know the nonprofits and learn about programs. You don't have to do this alone. There are homeownership advisers to help you."
