Livin' single

Shondaland, which consists of three hours of popular, female-driven dramas, reopens its gates with the 12th season premiere of "Grey's Anatomy," but this time it's without Patrick Dempsey. Is it possible that lovesick Meredith will find romance on farmersonly.com? All together now: McCreamy! "Scandal" and "How to Get Away With Murder" finish the trip to the amusement park. 7 p.m. KSTP, Ch. 5

Piano man

Lang Lang tickles the ivories — and whatever else he wants to touch — as the New York Philharmonic Orchestra's special guest on "Live From Lincoln Center." Numbers include Grieg's Piano Concerto, Beethoven's Symphony No. 7 and Nicki Minaj's "Anaconda." 7 p.m. TPT, Ch. 2

A not so sure bet

Wesley Snipes plays a mysterious gambling operator in the very intense, very confusing new drama "The Player," in which a sharpshooter is supposedly recruited to wipe out security threats while high rollers bet on the outcome. I say "supposedly" because I spent the entire first episode preoccupied with wondering when Snipes got out of jail for failing to pay his taxes (for the record, it was April 2013). 9 p.m. KARE, Ch. 11
