THE MIDDLE - "Halloween VI: Tick Tock Death" - Halloween finds the Hecks in their own "Twilight Zone"-type stories, with Brick providing an introduction to each, on "The Middle," WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 28 (8:00-8:30 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. Endless love

Great sitcoms don't rely too heavily on guest stars, gifting us with their presence on special occasions only. Halloween is as good an excuse as any for Brooke Shields to return to "The Middle" as the trashy neighbor, a role that reminds us that her true comedy talents were never really tapped on "Suddenly Susan." 7 p.m. KSTP, Ch. 5

Animal kingdom

The latest peek at the "Treasures of the Disney Vault" includes three great versions of "The Three Little Pigs" and the TCM premiere of 1949's "The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad," an inspired mash-up of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" and "The Wind in the Willows," featuring the voices of Bing Crosby and Basil Rathbone. 7 p.m. TCM

Car talk

KITT, General Lee: Call your agents. Despite being the most popular stars of "Knight Rider" and "The Dukes of Hazzard," you never really got the spotlight for an entire episode, an honor being bestowed upon "Metallicar" on "Supernatural." The hour will be seen through the headlights of the boys' 1967 Chevrolet Impala, which means the inevitable carwash scene may have a certain erotic edge. 8 p.m. WUCW, Ch. 23
