August 21, 1985 Critic's choice OK, so you've seen "The Music Man" (7, Ch. 2). The trick to night is going to be finding something you haven't seen before. So if you're stuck with repeats, you might as well pick something you'll enjoy, such as this charming 1962 adaptation of Meredith Wilson's play. It stars Robert Preston, Shirley Jones and 76 assorted trombone players. Jeff Strickler December 25, 1989 December 13, 1967

I'll take Manhattan

It's all about the bass, not the bombs bursting in air, when Meghan Trainor helps celebrate the holidays during New York's "Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular," hosted by Willie Geist and Tamron Hall. Note to NBC: If you really want to punish Brian Williams, make him take this assignment for the next five years. 7 p.m. Saturday, KARE, Ch. 11

Till there was you

I'm sure the Guthrie Theater's current production of "The Music Man" is worth a 76-trombone salute, but only the 1962 movie version gives fans the chance to watch young Ron Howard lisp his way through "Gary, Indiana" and Buddy Hackett show you how to do the "Shipoopi." 9:15 p.m. Saturday, TCM

Survey says

Phil McGraw tries to take Garry and Penny Marshall to school on a new edition of "Celebrity Family Feud." That classic battle is followed by Fred Willard's clan matching wits with Kevin McHale — the "Glee" star, not the Minnesota basketball legend. 7 p.m. Sunday, KSTP, Ch. 5
