The stinging detective

Idris Elba will not be at Sunday's Oscar ceremonies as a nominee, but he was the man of the hour during the Screen Actors Guild awards, where he won for his work in both "Beasts of No Nation" and "Luther," a searing detectives series that premieres stateside on BBC America. Those without an extensive cable package can get a taste of his TV work in this repeat from the first season. 10 p.m. Saturday, TPT, Ch. 2
