Stay at home with Homer throughout a 30-hour marathon featuring your favorite dysfunctional family. The festivities kick off with a screening of "The Simpsons Movie," a full-featured farce that lived up to high expectations with the kind of visual stunts usually associated with James Bond. 5 p.m. FXX

I'll drink to that

Sometimes watching other people imbibe is more fun than getting boozed up yourself. Such is the case with "The Thin Man" flicks, which may be more than 60 years old, but still have lots of fizz thanks to intoxicating performances by William Powell and Myrna Loy as amateur detectives/professional drinkers. Ringing in the New Year
