Diving back in

In an attempt to take an even bigger bite out of the ratings, Discovery is following up its record-breaking run of "Shark Week" with "ShWeekend," a new stunt that features four new programs, starting with "MythBusters vs. Jaws," in which the team of investigators takes its second look at the finale of Steven Spielberg's 1975 classic. 8 p.m. Saturday, Discovery Channel

Last suppers

Warm up the fava beans, pour the Chianti and say good night to "Hannibal," the scene-chewing drama that ends its three-season run. We have a gut feeling that our favorite cannibal will survive, if only to give NBC the option of serving "Hannibal: Room for Dessert" in the future. 9 p.m. Saturday, KARE, Ch. 11

English beat

Simon Cowell still reigns on "The X Factor UK," which starts a new season, marking the second year the European series has been available stateside. Pop star Rita Ora and DJ Nick Grimshaw join Cowell and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini at the judges' table. Is it too late for Paula Abdul to pick up a British accent? 7 p.m. Sunday, AXS TV
