Hike for women

Fort Snelling State Park

9-10:30 a.m. Saturday

Two major rivers meet in Fort Snelling State Park. Join a park naturalist for a walking discussion on the natural and cultural history at the confluence of the Mississippi and Minnesota rivers. Dress for the weather. Meet at the visitor center. (612-725-2724, mndnr.gov)

Kids in action

William O'Brien State Park

10-11 a.m. Saturday

Learn the basics about survival (air, shelter, water and food) and then make a survival bracelet. You will learn a basic knot and then make the bracelet. Registration required. (651-433-0500, mndnr.gov)

Mountain bike race

Elm Creek Park Reserve

10-noon Saturday

Race in a time trial on a 10- to 14-mile singletrack loop through trees. Warm up at the trailhead afterward with awards, door prizes and good times. Divisions include men's, women's and under-17. Helmets and mounted bike lights required.

Nature walk
